Attracting Young People to Manufacturing
Finding keen young people for jobs in manufacturing can be very difficult.
A proven way of getting the message across to kids that manufacturing is a great field to work in, is for them to meet and hear from other young people who are enjoying successful careers in the sector. The Young Industry Ambassadors program and the Victorian Government work with young ambassadors to promote careers in Manufacturing.
Young Industry Ambassadors work in all types of manufacturing occupations, from the factory floor to management. A Young Ambassador would visit a school or host student meeting 3 to 4 times a year, spreading the word that there are great careers in manufacturing.
