Dear Business Owner,
Recruitment and selection in Small and Medium sized Enterprises
We are writing to invite your organization to participate in an on-line survey that investigates the recruitment and selection practices of Victorian Small and Medium sized Enterprises (SMEs). The project will explore the steps taken by SME recruiters when looking for a person to fill a vacant job together with job related outcomes. The results of the survey will enable a framework to be developed to assist SMEs in undertaking recruitment and selection activities. This survey is being conducted by Dr Renee Paulet and Dr Andrew Dunning of the School of Business and Economics, Monash University. We thank your local council for forwarding this email to you on our behalf.
If your organization employs between 2 and less than 200 employees and you have filled a vacant job in the last twelve months, we encourage you to complete this survey. We ask that the main person responsible for the recruitment and selection practices in your organization complete this survey. We appreciate that your time is valuable. This survey will take about 10 to 15 minutes to complete and can be done so at any suitable time for you.

Your responses are strictly confidential and anonymous; therefore, only aggregate data will be used and no participant name/s will be collected or included in any publication. Your response cannot be traced to your email or identified in any way. Upon completion of the project the data will be stored for at least 5 years and then destroyed, as prescribed by University regulations. The aggregate research findings will be published in a handbook and also in academic journal articles. Your participation in this survey is voluntary and you are under no obligation to consent to participation. However, if you do consent to participate, you may only withdraw prior to the survey being submitted.
