Plenty Food Group PFG) Manufacturers recently showcased our region's diverse range of high quality products to over one hundred dignitaries, national buyers and representatives from the food and beverage industry at Parliament House, Canberra. The event was initiated by invitation from Harry Jenkins, Member for Scullin, Speaker of the House of Representatives, and opened by the Honourable Kim Carr, Minister for Innovation, Industry, Science and Research. Maria Vamvakinou, the Federal Member for Calwell and CR Mary Lalios, Mayor City of Whittlesea were attendance.

The aim of the event was two fold; one was to show off our region's food manufacturers and their product ranges to Federal Parliament, emphasising our regions high quality products, diversity, and its sheer volume and size. The second objective was for the food manufacturers to meet with national buyers and be given the opportunity to promote their product to them.
Product was showcased from over 30 food manufacturers with a diverse range of retail, food service, hospitality and specialty products. A small indication of the product on show included; goats and sheep cheeses, fetta, bocconcini, mascapone, ricotta, mozzarella, sundried tomatoes, grilled eggplant, stuffed baby peppers, pestos, olives, tzatziki and hommus dips, wine infused dips, fresh and dried pasta, roasted turkey, duck, chicken and pork, mud cake, muffins, jelly, crème caramel, chocolate mouse, pizza bases, foccacias, corn chips, wraps, gluten free products, ice cream cones and wafers, specialty local wines, duck eggs, olive oil and more.
Through this event the Group gained considerable exposure and continued to strengthen its reputation as a leading national food manufacturing precinct, reflecting the rich variety of cultures that created our region's food manufacturing base through generations of growth, expansion and new development in Melbourne’s north.
The Plenty Food Group would like to thank Bryan Wilson and his team from InterContinental Hotels Group for their assistance with food preparation, storage, serving and their event services. Mark Brassington and ORIX for supplying the refrigerated truck for transporting our manufacturer's product to Canberra, Terri Johnston from Hume City Council for attending and supplying images and all the staff from the Speaker's Office.
